 I am a small hobby breeder/exhibitor of beautiful A.K.C. Yorkshire Terriers. I strive to breed healthy, quality Yorkies as closely to the Y.T.C.A. standard of the breed as possible with the goal of producing my next show prospect. I can offer you a well bred, typey and healthy Yorkshire Terrier puppy that actually looks like a Yorkshire Terrier.
Even with the best planned breedings, not all puppies will be show quality. These puppies, which are very good quality, will be available to approved loving homes after a short phone interview and a completed questionaire. I do everything possible to ensure that my little charmers are placed into loving, for-ever homes. I do not have many litters per year, so I recommend getting on my waiting list.
All of my puppies are raised by me in my home. They come pre-spoiled and are healthy and happy. They will be vaccinated, wormed and vet checked before they are allowed to go to their new owners.
I do provide a health guarantee on all of my puppies. All puppies are sold on a spay/neuter contract and limited A.K.C. registration. This will be explained later.

So where did that kennel name, Desert Moon, come from? Most people think its because I live in the Arizona desert. But the name actually came from my all time favorite song from 1984, Desert Moon by Dennis DeYoung. Dennis sums it up in an interview by saying that Desert Moon represents not a specific place, but somewhere special from the innocence of ones childhood to which one can never return. Desert Moon represents a time and place we all wish we could return to. Please see the video on U-Tube or download it. Desert Moon is a beautiful song, one of the best. So Desert Moon became my kennel name since 1985.

Of course, breeding Yorkshire Terriers was not nearly as easy as picking my kennel name. After some not so glorious starts, some hard knocks, many disappointments, dealings with a few un-ethical breeders and the in-ability to find a mentor, I gave up breeding Yorkies for a while and started showing Skye Terriers. In fact, my first Skye Terrier, Woody, was my first A.K.C. champion dog! I dearly love the Skye Terrier breed. That breed is one of a kind!! Thank you Susan Parsons of Cladich Skyes for letting me have that beautiful boy!! Woody is now 14 years young! I cant thank Susan enough for being my friend and mentor!
Fast forward a few years...... I had the opportunity to buy a wonderful puppy named Alex from Kathy Murphy at Gold Dust Yorkies. She e-mailed a picture of him and it was love at first sight!! Alex is the most loving dog. He is gentle with the older boys and never starts a fight. He loves to play and show and is always the ring leader. He is quite the character!! After I showed him as a puppy, I sent him out with Kirsten McGregor. He finished his championship in 4 months. Mega thanks to Kirsten on her wonderful presentation of Alex!
With the addition of Oscar and Rowdy, I really think I am "on my way", producing the quality Yorkies that I have always dreamed of.
